EX- boss Micky Moore says he is waiting for ‘the right project' having ruled out a return to former club .
And that gave the Reds the green light to hire Tim Harris as their new manager last Saturday, a month after he left South side .
Redditch sacked manager Darren Byfield straight after last Saturday's 2-2 draw with St Neots, ending his 19-month tenure on the back of one win in 10 Premier Division outings.
Three candidates were interviewed last week with Harris getting the nod having steered the Gloucester ship for the last three years.
Moore, whose brief spell in charge of the Bluebirds ended in October, revealed he too had spoken to United chairman Chris Swan but stressed the time is not right for him to take over at The Valley.
“It is not something I am going to pursue. The timing is not right,” said Moore, who is a former player and assistant manager at the club.
“It was nice to be linked and I understand why. I am an out-of-work manager who lives locally and being an ex-player and assistant manager there is an affiliation but at this point it is not right for either party.
“Chris has done a fantastic job with what he has done with the club. When I look at it from my time down there things have come on leaps and bounds.
“I have spent the past eight years around the League or National League and there are probably people about that know the level better than I do at the moment.
“I am sure whoever they appoint will be right for the club from the off.”
Moore managed at Solihull Borough and before making his name as an assistant to the likes of and Adam Murray at Mansfield, Kevin Wilkin at Nuneaton and Marcus Bignot at .
And despite taking the hot seat at Holker , he would have no qualms with a return to coaching. “I am looking to get back in, and not necessarily as a manager, but it needs to be the right project,” said Moore. “I have only been out of it 10 weeks, it is not a long time and things can change so quickly in football.
“I wouldn't want to go into something as a quick fix.”
