Paul Doswell has re-signed Sutton United fan favourite Harry Beautyman on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Stevenage for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old midfielder played 105 times for the U’s over two seasons in the South, winning the Supporters’ Club Player of the Year award and earning an call up.
In 2013, he moved up a division by joining Welling and the following year, after scoring 11 goals in 21 games, Peterborough United signed him on loan before making the move permanent.
Beautyman played 40 times for Posh in League One, leaving for Northampton Town in July 2016 on a two-year deal for a nominal fee.
Last June, Beautyman signed for Stevenage but has only played 10 times for the club.
Speaking about the signing, Doswell said: ”I’ve been tracking Harry’s progress and knew he was available. What was important was that we were the club he wanted to join, and we’re grateful to Stevenage for their co-operation with the move.
“He’s signed a two and a half year deal, and the thought of seeing him line up alongside our present midfield is an exciting one.”
Meanwhile, Sutton have shipped out Ross Stearn, who rejoined the club in November, on loan to for a month.
Doswell added: “Ross had been out for a while with an ankle injury and needs to play matches to get his fitness back.
“Going to Bath will help him achieve that, and we look forward to welcoming him at the end of his month there.”
