Transfer news: Gateshead’s Luke Hannant set to leave

have accepted a bid for midfielder Luke Hannant, The understands.
The 24-year-old has been attracting plenty of attention for his Heed performances this season.
Hannant was signed from side Team Northumbria by former boss Neil Aspin, who is now in charge of Port Vale.
The League Two club are one interested party with Aspin last week quoted by the Stoke Sentinel on his admiration for the player.
Aspin said: “He has been in my thoughts possibly since I left Gateshead, but I have a good relationship with Gateshead and the chairman. I don't really want to be taking players off them.
“If we were to sign him now we would have to pay a transfer fee. He would be out of contract at the end of the season so is maybe someone we can wait on. But then you are running the risk that, if he does well, other clubs might be alerted as well.
“You are just trying to weigh everything up. But I have a good relationship with Gateshead and wouldn't want to do anything that would spoil that.”
An unnamed club are believed to have made an official offer, with Crawley, Lincoln, Mansfield and Forest Green Rovers all thought to have been monitoring the versatile Heed man.
Hannant began his career at Cambridge United but opted to study Sports Science at Northumbria University when he was released and that's how he came to the attention of Aspin in the north east.
But he's also talented on the court, as last week a video of him volleying a into a basketball net went viral…
