The Dagenham & Redbridge firesale has continued with left-back Sam Ling the latest to leave, signing for Leyton Orient on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Striker Morgan Ferrier left the club earlier today for Boreham Wood and now the Daggers have seen another player depart for a National League rival.
Ling joined Dagenham in September 2016 after progressing through Orient’s academy. The full-back signed a new contract at the end of last season and appeared 35 times in this campaign, scoring three goals.
Head Coach Justin Edinburgh said: “During the January Transfer window, I identified players who I thought would benefit the club this season but more particularly next season.
“Sam was high on my list and had attracted interest from Football League sides so we’re delighted to bring him back to the Club.
“As Sam is the son of our Director of Football, Martin Ling, it was decided that Martin was to remove himself from the decision which was ultimately made by me in consultation with the Board.”
