Former Lincoln City defender Bradley Wood has been suspended from football for six years after committing 25 breaches of The FA's Integrity and Betting Rules.
Wood, 26, was found by The FA to have intentionally been booked in two matches against Ipswich Town and Burnley during Lincoln's FA Cup run last season in order to “influence a football betting market”.
Betting firms said there had been “unusual bets” placed on him receiving a caution in the two games although Wood, who made 38 appearances for Alfreton this season, denied being booked deliberately.
Seven people placed bets on the market with two of them being close acquaintances to Wood.
Wood admitted to 22 charges of betting on the outcome of matches and has been banned until March 8, 2024.
