Marathonbet’s Non-League Tips: Who can handle the heat?

By Chip Kidger
Much of Britain has been basking in a mini-heatwave this week, and things are certainly hotting up across the National League, with plenty of issues still to be settled as the regular season reaches its penultimate weekend.
Our friends at Marathonbet are back once again with their take on what could be a significant Saturday in the National League…
National League
Macclesfield Town may still be firm favourites to finally rubber-stamp their promotion to the EFL, but if they stumble against Eastleigh, a win for closest rivals Tranmere Rovers on Saturday will certainly make it a fascinating end to the National League season.
Micky Mellon’s sides have shown no signs of giving up the chase of recent weeks and should have more than enough incentive to see off a FC Halifax side with very little to play for.
Back Tranmere Rovers to beat FC Halifax Town 2-0 at 61/10 with Marathonbet.
At the other end of the table, Barrow have taken advantage of Woking’s stunning collapse and hauled themselves closer to safety after a vital 1-0 away win at Guiseley in midweek.
Ady Pennock’s men have shown real fighting spirit in recent weeks with two wins from their last three but face a tough test of their resilience against promotion-chasing Aldershot. A battling draw in Hampshire would be more than satisfactory for Pennock with two easier final games to come.
Back Aldershot Town and Barrow to draw at 129/50 with Marathonbet.
National League North
Could the latest milestone in Salford City’s fairytale rise be completed this weekend?
The Ammies host Boston Utd on Saturday knowing they need just one point to reach the unchartered waters of the fifth tier of English football, as a result of this weekend’s opponents from Lincolnshire doing them a massive favour in defeating second place Harrogate Town last weekend.
With Moor Lane set to be rocking, expect Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s charges to finish the job in style on Saturday.
Back over 2.5 goals at Salford City v Boston Utd at 4/6 with Marathonbet.
National League South
Finally, in National League South second take on third with Havant & Waterlooville fully aware time is running out for them to close the three-point gap to league leaders Dartford as they travel to Chelmsford City.
Both teams have been in relentless form over the last few weeks, and with little to choose between them, it may be a case of ‘what might have been’ for the Hawks on Saturday evening.
Back Chelmsford City and Havant & Waterlooville to draw at 23/10 with Marathonbet.
