Maidstone United have been dealt a blow with the news that defender Josh Hare will not be renewing his contract with the club.
It is understood that the club offered Hare a new deal but the 23-year-old has decided that his future lies away from the Gallagher Stadium.
Manager Jay Saunders told the club’s official website: “I am disappointed to see Josh go as he’d done well for us. We’d been talking before the season ended about next year and he was very much in my plans.
“It’s that time of year when players are getting offers elsewhere and despite my best efforts and a good offer, he’s decided to move on.”
The right back joined the Kent club last season from Eastbourne Borough and became a regular feature in The Stones’ back line.
Hare began his career at Gillingham and spent loan spells with Eastbourne Borough and Leatherhead before moving to Borough on a permanent deal in the summer of 2016.
