Whitley Bay have appointed Mick Mulhern as their new manager following the resignation of Andy Gowens on Sunday.
Mulhern steps up from the role of assistant manager, a position he has held since February.
The four-time FA Vase winners have taken 18 points from 15 games and sit 13th in Northern League Division One.
Mulhern said: “I am aware that I am filling the boots of a Whitley Bay legend and I am pleased to say that I am taking on the job with Andy’s full blessing.
“I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to manage a club of the stature of Whitley Bay and I am looking forward to the task ahead. I believe we have a good squad of players here and along with Andy Hudson will be looking for continuity and stability within the club.”
Mulhern will take charge of his first game tomorrow at Newton Aycliffe.
