The Soccer Store to use Augmented Reality Technology to help sell their range of Samba Football Goals

The Soccer

The Soccer Store will use Augmented Reality technology in 2019 to enhance their customer’s ecommerce shopping experience.
Augmented reality is a technology that superimposes a computer-generated image of a product on a user’s view of the real world, thus providing a composite view of the two items together.
The customer will be able to see a view of a Samba Football Goal in their own garden giving them a chance to get a feel of how the goal will look before they buy.
“The Samba Football Goals that we sell on our website are really popular for professional and home use,” said The Soccer Store’s Peter Hart.
“However, the one problem that our home use customers encounter is visualising how a certain size of goal will look in the space they have in their garden.
“We have 10 different size football goals in the Samba range and which size goal to choose often leaves customers in a bit of a quandary.
“The Augmented Reality technology will help them visualise this. I am sure that AR will be used more and more in the coming years to enhance customers buying experience.
“We want to be at the forefront of this technology leading the way in sports ecommerce”
Research has shown that people enjoy positive, interactive experiences and are willing to purchase products that are promoted using this technology. Ikea are using this augmented reality with their current catalogue, showing customers how furniture will look in the surrounds of a customer home.
With the arrival of augmented reality in e-commerce, retailers have another tool to influence consumer behavior. AR technology provides customers with the opportunity to try out products before they buy, so they become more attached to the product before they make a purchase.
The Soccer Store plan to have the first of their Samba Football Goals on an e-commerce platform using this technology by spring time.
You can view their current range of football goals in good old fashioned 2D on their website: www.thesoccerstore.co.uk
