Charlton Athletic take a look at Tyler French

Charlton Athletic

AFC Sudbury’s Tyler French has a chance to earn himself a professional contract after it was revealed that he will go on trial at League One side Charlton Athletic.
The 20-year-old, who has made over 100 appearances for the Bostik North side, was recently transfer listed by manager Marl Morsley, as he looks to progress his way up the leagues.
This will be French’s second trial in quick succession after he recently had a spell with Charlton’s promotion rivals Barnsley. where he played twice for the Yorkshire side’s U23 team.
Speaking to the Suffolk Free Press, Morsley said, “Barnsley were impressed by him, but we felt the best approach was for him to go to Charlton for the next few weeks.
“It’s another opportunity for Tyler to spend two weeks training with the professionals at another big club.
“I think, at this moment in time, there’s a chance he could go to Barnsley, but obviously he wants to have a look at Charlton and see what’s there.”
