Macclesfield Town striker Tyrone Marsh joins Boreham Wood

Macclesfield Town striker Tyrone Marsh has signed a one-year deal with Boreham Wood.

Marsh, 25, becomes the Wood’s fourth signing of the summer after Adam McDonnell, Kabongo Tshimanga and Piero Mingoia all joined on Monday.

The forward began his career at Oxford United and made his professional debut at Elland Road against Leeds United in August 2012.

After a trio of loan moves; Marsh went on to feature for Ebbsfleet United, Torquay United and Dover Athletic before joining the Silkmen in 2017, where he won promotion from the National League to the Football League.

Marsh said: “I’m very excited for the season ahead.

“I’ve come in and seen the ground, seen the setup, and it’s immaculate. The club, the pitch, the surroundings, how the manager wants to play all had a bearing on my decision to come here.

“Fans can expect me to work hard, score goals as well as create opportunities for the team to score.”

Manager Luke Garrard added: “I’m very excited to see what Tyrone can offer. We know him well from his time at Macclesfield helping them gain promotion out of this league.

“He has a great work ethic, great endeavour and will bring goals, discipline, hunger and a winning mentality to the forward line.

“He’s working with a group of players that have an agenda and want to progress from last year.”
