CARLTON PALMER has quit as manager of Grantham Town ahead of the club being taken over by a new board of directors.
The ex-England midfielder, 55, was brought back to the UK last summer from China by chairman Darren Ashton, who has also resigned.
Palmer’s final fixture in charge of the Northern Premier League club was a 2-1 defeat at Morpeth Town a week yesterday. He said: “Darren has showed great loyalty in me over recent weeks when results have not gone our way.
