KINGSTONIAN star Bryant Akono Bilongo has landed a dream move to Championship club Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old leftback will link up with Boro’s U23 squad managed by ex-Blyth Spartans and Darlington defender Craig Liddle.

Bilongo made 28 appearances for Ks this season in their push for promotion from the Isthmian League Premier.

The youngster also featured for Chelsea’s U23 side while training with the Premier League side.

Kingstonian manager Hayden Bird expressed his pleasure in Bilongo earning his move. He said: “Everyone at the club is delighted for Bryant. There is no doubting that he is a young player with the potential to enjoy a very successful football career.

“Bryant has been exceptional this season and thoroughly deserves this wonderful opportunity.”
