FIELDS’ NEW BASE

THE first brick for Sydenham Wessex Premier side Moneyfields’ new two-storey clubhouse was laid on Tuesday as part of a £5.2-million redevelopment scheme.The brick was laid by Clare Martin, chief executive of Pompey in the Community, the charitable arm of Portsmouth FC.Two full-size artificial pitches are being laid either side of the clubhouse site at the Moneyfields Sports Ground in Copnor, which will be renamed the John Jenkins Stadium, named in honour of a Portsmouth D-Day veteran who died in 2019 aged 100.Pompey in the Community will be landlords of the venu...
