CHIEF IS AIMING TO TAKE CONTROL OF CITY

SUPPORTERS at loss-making Worcester City are being asked to back a takeover by director Simon Lancaster – just four years after becoming fan-owned.
The former Non-League heavyweights took voluntary relegation to Step 5 to cut costs during a seven-year exile from the city following the sale of the iconic St George’s Lane stadium.
After three different proposals for new grounds fell through, the Midland Premier Division outfit eventually returned to Worcester at Claines Lane, a ground owned and operated by Worcestershire FA.
