Alan was a pioneer for physios

IT was with great sadness to hear of the recent passing of former Darlington, Rotherham United, Blackpool, Sheffield Wednesday and England physio Alan Smith.
I first came across Alan in 1989 after he wrote an excellent book titled Soccer Injuries Prevention and First Aid.
This was, and still is, an excellent guide to treating injuries on the field of play and provides the most important aspects for anyone involved in football.
