■MAY I pass on my personal condolences (and on behalf of Ramsbottom United) on the sad passing of David Emery.
He has legendary status as a journalist and editor, but, for me, his greatest achievement was the setting up and supervising of the superb Non-League Paper.
With the demise of so many ‘Pinks’, ‘Greens’ and ‘Buffs’ around the country, this superb publication filled a void so desperately needed by many supporters, yet no doubt the doom-mongers believed that it could never be successful.
