BROADCASTING legend – and Hartlepool United super fan – Jeff Stelling was tired but ecstatic after completing his latest charity marathon for Prostate Cancer UK in honour of the late Bill Turnbull last Sunday.

The former Sky Sports football anchor, who sported Prostate Cancer UK’s iconic ‘Man of Men’ badge on Soccer Saturday each and every week, completed a 34th walking marathon for the leading men’s health charity by marching from Wembley to Wycombe Wanderers.

After Prostate Cancer UK’s biggest ever day of football marching, Jeff was greeted by Sesi Turnbull, wife of former BBC Breakfast presenter Bill, at the finish line, as the 68-year-old jubilantly led an army of 368 walkers through streets lined with hundreds of supporters into Adams Park. They overcame a mid-afternoon downpour on their way to raising £210,000 so far.

“What a welcome!” he said. “Thirty-four marathons, and that was the best one of them all. I’m delighted to have completed this challenge for Prostate Cancer UK in honour of the great Bill Turnbull – and all those that have seen their lives affected by this dreadful disease.
