STANDING FIRM: Officials need added protection

FOLLOWING the hugely successful eradication of “kicking the ball away”, how about the FA introducing a similar booking system for players and benches hurling abuse, simply because they don’t like the decision they’ve made.
Let’s have just the captain, or a designated player, approach the referee to question a decision. After a few weeks of yellow cards, this should make the game a better watch and stop officials leaving the game.
