FAW plan wasn’t thought through

QUITE what prompted the Welsh FA to ask Merthyr Town to move from the English Non-League pyramid – when they are top of Southern Premier South with every possibility of promotion to the National League South – is difficult to understand.
Certainly with current gates at Penydarren Park well in excess of 1,000, and increasing, success breeds success.
By their own admission, the proposal came with a caveat of financial compensation.
