NICK Spooner says it has been an “absolute privilege” to lead Hyde United in his first managerial role – but insists now is the time to pass the baton on.
The 54-year-old former Bolton Wanderers right-back has stepped away as boss after three-and-a-half years in charge at Ewen Fields with the Tigers having picked up eight points from as many games in NPL Premier.
Spooner joined the club in February 2022 and saved the Tigers from relegation before registering successive sixth-place finishes.
