Former pro Aaron Lescott is going back to the beginning with Redditch Borough – with an emphasis on smiles as much as success.
The 46-year-old went eight years without kicking a ball following his retirement from a career which encompassed more than 300 games for the likes of Aston Villa, Bristol Rovers, Stockport County and Walsall.
Friends persuaded him to dust off the boots to take part in veterans’ football and, having caught the bug once more, ended up featuring for Wednesfield at Step 6 last term and Midland Football League rivals AFC Bridgnorth this.
