DEPARTING defender Sean Raggett says the opportunity to move into full-time with Lincoln City was too good to turn down.

The 22-year-old centre-back had attracted interest from a number of clubs in the Football League, and Scottish Premiership.

However, he has opted to join Dover's league rivals Lincoln ahead of the new National League season, signing a two-year deal at Sincil Bank.

Raggett joined Dover as a 16-year-old after leaving Gillingham and went on to make over 150 appearances for the Kent club.

Dover boss Chris Kinnear urged Raggett to stay at Crabble two weeks ago with interest mounting but the lure of professional football has won the young defender over. Dover will be entitled to compensation as Raggett is under the age of 24.

The centre-half told Lincoln's website: “The opportunity to make the transition into full-time football under an ambitious young manager and at a club with such a rich history was too good to turn down.

“Whilst I appreciate what everyone at Dover has done for me I felt it was time for me to come out of my comfort zone and test myself in a new system with new players and new management. I can't wait to get started.”
