ELLIOTT FREAR wants to finish his club season on a high to make sure he books his place on the plane to Slovakia.

Salisbury City’s flying winger won his second England C cap against Jordan after making his debut in November against Czech Republic.

The 23-year-old has impressed from the left flank with an assist in each of his two appearances in the England jersey.

And he’s desperate to be involved at the end of the season.

“I’ve always said I get the same buzz assisting goals as I do scoring them,” Frear said. “That’s what I’m in the team to do and I’m glad I did my job. We also got the right result on the night.

“We didn’t really know what they were going to be like and it took us the first half an hour to suss them out a bit.

“We got away with a few things early on but we defended excellent second half and shut them out of the game really.

“It’s been the highlight of my short career and I want more of it. My form for Salisbury got me into the squad and there is still 12 games left to cement getting into the next squad.

“Hopefully I can keep impressing Paul Fairclough and if I do that he can trust me on the pitch against Slovakia.”

England C play in Slovakia on May 31. With the regular season finishing on April 26, boss Paul Fairclough will put his squad through a training camp a week before they fly abroad.

The team will play a warm-up game against Hungary in Budapest on Wednesday, May 28 before travelling on to Slovakia.

Frear added: “I’ve kept May free from holidays just in case!”
