■HAYES & YEADING made hard work of their FA Cup tie against Brimscombe & Thrupp.
Chances were few and far between in the opening stages, but the home side’s Spyros Mentis did have a header cleared off the line.
The hosts had a better chance to take the lead in the second half when Mentis was barged over in the area, but veteran striker Rowan Vine saw his penalty saved by Ashley Gale.
But with under 15 minutes to go Manny Duku left the Brimscombe defence for dead and finished well...
