WEST Didsbury & Chorlton produced one of the performances of the round to hold BetVictor Premier Leaguers Stalybridge to a goalless draw at a baking hot Bower Fold.
West belied the three-division gap with a battling display backed by a large and vociferous following and despite visibly wilting in the heat never really looked likely to concede.
Even though Celtic dominated possession throughout they were unable to fashion any clear-cut chances as keeper Andrew Jones marshalled his defence superbly and was fault less when called into action.
