ALFRETON progressed to the next round but they were pushed all the way.
Dominic Smith fired them in front after two minutes.
The Reds doubled their league on 19 minutes when Jake Day turned home a floated ball into the penalty area.
Coalville had strong penalty appeals waved away when Rhys Hoenes was felled in the box
The second half was pretty much one-way traffic with Coalville laying siege to the Alfreton goal.
Billy Kee was fouled in the box but his spot-kick was saved by Alfreton keeper George Willis.
