EASTBOURNE overcame Dorking on penalties after a dramatic six-goal thriller.
The hosts came back three times after going behind, Chris Whelpdale bagging a hat-trick on his debut, with a first-time finish from outside the area proceeding two headers.
Barry Fuller was dismissed for Dorking after giving away two penalties and being cautioned for each, but Slav Huk saved both spot kicks, first from Charlie Walker then from Whelpdale.
