A BRACE from David Sims-Burgess saw Yate through to the next stage but they were made to work hard by a Gosport side who played for 80 minutes with only ten men.
It was the visitors’ Elliott Wheeler who saw red in Yate’s first real attack as he denied Ricardo Rees a goal-scoring chance when he held him back.
Yate went on to dominate possession in the first half without making the breakthrough. Rees went close on one occasion and Joe Tumelty fired over the crossbar after Rees had laid the ball back to him.
