BOREHAM WOOD overcame local rivals Barnet with a narrow, if deserved victory, which came courtesy of a bizarre 57th-minute own goal by Bees keeper Aston Oxborough.
Wood won through after Frankie Raymond’s in-swinging left-footed corner was headed goalwards by Will Evans with Oxborough unwittingly contributing to the ball going over the line via the post.
Up to then, Wood had the better of the early exchanges, putting the Bees under pressure and forcing the hosts into a number of errors.
