Town through at the expense of fellow fellow Southern League side Larkhall Athletic.
The home side worked hard to keep the visitors at bay in the first half, which ended 0-0 with few clear-cut chances for either side.
Cirencester pressed hard in midfield, though, and mostly won the aerial battles, and in the first minutes of the second Irving picked up on a loose ball to fire past James Walker for his first goal to break the deadlock.
