A HAT-TRICK from Nabil Shariff made sure St Ives avoided a potential banana skin as they made the gulf in class tell against Essex Senior League side Barking.
The visitors worked hard but, every time they needed to, Ives lifted themselves out of second gear.
Shariff grabbed his first goal after 25 minutes, spinning on a sixpence to fire the ball in the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
