NEWCASTLE TOWN 2 LONG EATON UTD 1

■ IN an entertaining game, it was the home side Newcastle Town who edged out their midland opponents Long Eaton after coming from behind at Buckmaster Avenue.
Long Eaton created a hatful of chances in the opening few minutes and they took a thoroughly deserved lead through Evan Garnett midway through the half.
Castle hit back through Jake Avery, after the visitors’ keeper Lewis King had made two fine saves to keep out Jake Twyford and Tommy van der Laan.
After the break, Town took the lead and grabbed what would be the winner via Avery after good hold-up...
