A FIVE-star performance from Robbie Savage’s Silkmen against higher opposition saw Macclesfield through in the FA Cup.
Goals from Tre Pemberton, Justin Johnson, Edy Maieco, and a brace from captain Paul Dawson sealed a convincing victory.
Dawson opened his account on 12 minutes as he rifled a free-kick into the top corner, giving Shields keeper Myles Boney no chance.
Dawson was once again in the action as he twisted and turned inside the area before poking past the visiting stopper to double Macc’s advantage.
