GOSPORT Borough overcame ten-man Basingstoke Town and atrocious conditions to earn their place in the next round.
The home team made a bright start and took the lead within nine minutes, Charlie Wassmer heading into the net from an in-swinging set-piece.
This was followed by Ethan Taylor sprinting through and seeing a low shot saved by Town keeper Simon Grant, who then denied Trevor Caborn.
