JACK Rice held his nerve to convert a penalty that earned Taunton a second crack at Weston-super-Mare.
He dispatched his spot-kick with confidence after debutant Joe Hatch had been felled by visiting captain Emlyn Lewis.
That was after 37 minutes, and was the Peacocks’ rapid response to falling behind less than five minutes earlier.
Their guests, flying high in National League South, had taken lead when Sam Pearson curled a strike into the top corner after Luke Coulson directed Sam Avery’s pass into his path.
