RED CARD AND OWN GOAL HELP MARINERS

MARINE pulled off a shock that a feisty display deserved, albeit assisted by a red card that left Chorley to play with ten men for the last half-hour.
The game was finely poised when Josh Wilson was sent off for a two-footed challenge.
Chorley got off to a flying start with a quality goal. Adam Blakeman’s cross was nodded across the box by Marcus Carver for Matty Hughes to rifle a shot into the net.
The hosts were close to a second when Carver’s header was booted off the line.
But the visitors equalised when a leftwing centre was cleverly dummied...
