BLYTH’S SPIRIT SECURES VICTORY

BLYTH secured their sixth straight win to progress to the second round, at the expense of nine-man Lancaster.
Spartans’ Michael Liddle fired over from long range after seven minutes.
Rob Wilson had a chance for Lancaster on 14 minutes but his shot was comfortably saved by Spartans custodian Peter Jameson.
Blyth took the lead after 18 minutes when Liddle curl a delightful free-kick past Lancaster keeper Aiden Stone from 20 yards.
Lancaster nearly levelled at once as Wilson had another chance but shot wide.
