AN INSPIRED half-time double substitution proved key as Welling United came from behind to knock out St Albans City.
Nathan Green drew a great save out of St Albans keeper Dean Snedker early on but it was the visitors who went ahead. Sam Merson had a drive that Dan Wilks beat out. It came back to Merson, who squared for Zane Banton to slot home. Merson almost made it two but his flick came back off the bar on the stroke of half-time.
