ILKESTON TOWN’S pre-season continued with defeat at home to a strong Notts County outfit at the New Manor Ground. Callum Roberts and Kyle Wootton both saw chances go astray early on for Notts, before Ilkeston debutant Jack Thomas’s volley was gathered by visiting keeper Sam Slocombe.
Roberts went through on goal for the visitors, Durrant saving well, but Wootton finally got the opener on the stroke of half-time, running on to NATIONAL League South play-off runners-up Dartford started pre-season with a win.
