FIRST-HALF BLITZ STUNS COLLIERIES

WORKINGTON progress to the next round of the FA Trophy following a convincing victory at fellow Northern Pemier League North-West side Pontefract Collieries. They started much the brighter side and had the perfect start when they took the lead inside five minutes through striker Charlie Bowman.
Brad Hubbold doubled the lead 20 minutes later before Bowman grabbed his second on the stroke of half-time.
There looked little hope of a way back for Pontefract Collieries but the second half proved to be much closer.
But any hope of a miracle comeback...
