HORNCHURCH sailed through after a comfortable win over Bowers & Pitsea.
Bowers took the lead in the 15th minute as debutant Luca Albon scored from the penalty spot, after Joe Wright had brought down Quentin Monville.
After Chris Dickson hit the crossbar for the Urchins, the hosts dominated, but were wasteful with their chances. Lamar Johnson produced a good stop to keep the hosts ahead.
