SOUTH Shields completed a perfect week on the home front with a hard-fought win at home to Colne.
Three wins in three competitions without conceding was the Mariners’ impressive return.
Both keepers performed well, Shields’ shot-stopper Myles Boney with a crucial injury-time save from Harry Winstanley. Hakan Burton’s pointblank save prevented Barrow Jack Hindle from giving Shields an 18th-minute lead. Will McCamley was next to be frustrated by Burton, before Boney produced a reaction save from Sam O’Halloran.
