■ IN-FORM Berkhamsted added FA Trophy progress to their fine league form with a convincing win at Barton Rovers’ Sharpenhoe Road home.
The Comrades stand second in Southern League Division One Central, only a point behind leaders North Leigh having played three games fewer.
And it was one of their former players who sank Barton Rovers. James Verney condemned Rovers to defeat with a goal in each half.
It meant Rovers went out of the Trophy at the first hurdle, but their defeat was not without a spirited fight.
