FOLLOWING defeats in the FA Cup and Southern League Cup in the past week, Aylesbury were desperate to avoid a hat-trick of knockout defeats – but it was not to be.
Max Hercules won a penalty for the Ducks when he was fouled from behind by Simeon Dennis in the 18th minute. Hercules stepped up but saw his shot saved by Matthew Kerbey.
Isthmian League opponents Chipstead made him pay when they took the lead against the run of play three minutes later.
