■ WARE’S poor record in the Trophy continued with a dramatic penalty defeat.
Resting three players from their FA Cup run, they still had the better of the first half and came to regret not scoring.
Canvey capitalised after the break when a long ball forward had the home defence in trouble and Connor Hubble shot home for the opening goal.
