■ A WELL-TAKEN goal by Max Hercules in the 73rd minute put AFC Dunstable into the next round.
The winning goal was a rare moment of quality after the two sides had largely cancelled each other out and a draw followed by penalties looked the most likely outcome.
In a scrappy first half the visitors had looked most likely to score with Hercules and Luke Beckwith putting the home side under pressure. Witham were the more dominant side in the second period and looked threatening until Hercules struck.
