CELTIC headed through to the next round with a hard-fought but ultimately deserved victory.
The visitors took the lead after just 11 minutes when Aaron Dwyer burst through with Trafford vainly appealing for offside and slipped the ball past Brad Rose.
Will Hall was desperately unlucky in the 36th minute when an attempt on goal struck him on the shoulder and deflected past Rose.
Joe Edward almost made it three when he struck a post from 20 yards. Demi Rhami and Mike Burke both missed good chances before Tom Bentham scored for the home side to set up a grandstand finish.
