CITY of Liverpool progressed in the FA Trophy, claiming the scalp of another higher-tier side in Stamford of the Southern League Premier Central division.
The Purps, who overcame NPL Premier side Lancaster City in the previous round, started well, causing all kinds of problems for the Daniels, particularly through the pace and trickery of winger Jawad Jebrin. Callum Schorah drew an excellent low save from Michael Duggan in the Stamford goal, while Max Allen also stung the palms of the experienced keeper shortly.
