■THE damage was done in the first half as Whyteleafe responded to a goal by Kadell Daniel to respond with three of their own.
Despite a good second half performance, Croydon were unable to get back into the game.
Daniel’s shot after 15 minutes gave Croydon the lead. A low shot crept inside a post. But Ryan Gondoh struck back straight away to level the scores and five minutes later Eniola Hassan fired home to give the visitors the lead.
In the 39th minute Stefan Ilic probably scored the best goal of the game when he curled it inside the far post.
